[1.1] What is ScienSe?

ScienSe is a scientific research tool of support. ScienSe looks for, organizes and shows the fundamental information of the research articles and other publications of scientific character.
[1.2] What is the meaning of ``ScienSe''?

ScienSe is an abbreviation of Scientific Searcher that is the long name of the system.
[1.3] What is the source of the name?

The election of the name was one of the most important processes in the project due to the expectations that were had. The name had to express the essence of the project, in addition to being specially attractive to the public to whom it is directed. Long time went by before it was happened to us, but when it came us to the mind, we had the certainty that if there existed a name for this software, it had to be SCIENtific SEarcher.
[1.4] What is the license of ScienSe?

Of all the range of attractive characteristics, the license is one of most important, because there is not any other software with the characteristics of ScienSe in the market that, like ScienSe, is under the general public license (GPL). This means that you will be able to have access to the source code, and even more, you will be able to modify, adapt or improve it, according to your requirements.
[1.5] In which operating system does ScienSe run?

ScienSe has been developed and proven in the Linux platform, although in principle it would have to work without problems in any operating system with POSIX support and a J2EE implementation.
[1.6] Where can I get ScienSe?

ScienSe is available in several packages in the download section of the following direction:

In addition if you wish to prove its potential before download it, we already have a web site running with ScienSe called ScienSeMath, that is on the following URL:

http://itza.fciencias.unam.mx/sciensemath

In spite of in ScienSeMath you will have access only as an extern user, it will give you a great vision about the things that ScienSe offers you. ScienSeMath contains the information of the mathematics research articles of the most important magazines on the area.

We have carefully documented each aspect related to ScienSe, thus there are several options.

In the developer's area of the ScienSe's site there are information about the matter.

In the help and support section of the project's site there are indications about how to report a bug.
[1.12] How is ScienSe compared with the other software of the area?

It has almost all the characteristics of other systems with the advantage that ScienSe is under the GPL license and free.
